I started taking metformin yesterday to treat PCOS. I have been very sick with many trips to the bathroom. I have saw online that you need a low carb diet to help with side effects. Can you give me any advice on diet and how long the symptoms last?

I was recently diagnosed with pre-diabetes. I understand exercise and a healthy diet can help prevent me from getting diabetes type 2. I would like to know the specifics of a diabetic diet.

I am on a lot of medications for my kidney transplant, and they cause weight gain weight. Im trying to get rid of carbs from my diet, will that help along with the the no-meat diet?

I have tried massage, chiro, physio and IMS (Intramuscular stimulation) it helps but only for about 5 days and its painful and expensive. So far IMS has been the best thing I have tried. I am about to try Prolotherapy an injection of sugar water and a numbing drug. I have also started on an all organic no meat diet.

My grandmother and great grandmother has/had diebetes.. my grandmother controls hers with insulin…. I had Gestational Diabetes with my first pregnancy but not with my second… I know certain genetics skip a generation, but to be on the safe side what diet should i follow and still enjoy flavorful meals?

When diet soft drinks came out, the cans were covered with warnings that these drinks were only to be used by people who could not use sugar?Now kids, everyone drinks these drinks without a second thought. Why do they think they are safe now.
Oh yes there was warnings, I am just a bit older than most replying.It was originally made for people with diabetes not dieters. I know sugar is harmful, even worse is the artifical ones. But I wanted others to confirm what I have been screaming at my grandkids about for the last five years.

I think I have the worst doctor. He told me today I have gestational diabetes and asked the nurse to give me some dietary education, but then everyone disappeared and I didn’t get any education at all. I’ve never had this before and have no clue what to do! All they told me was that diabetes can be controlled with diet and exercise…. but no info on the kind of diet. we’re going into a holiday weekend so I know I won’t get any appointments with dieticians or specialists until next week or the week after at the earliest. Meanwhile, do you guys have any suggestions of simple foods to eat/diets to follow? Am I supposed to avoid sugar totally?
P.S. I am so angry at my doctor, and feel really guilty about having diabetes. Any suggestions on how to cope would be great!

I need to find a diet to help reduce my lipid levels back to normal. Im also diabetic type 2.
